FIVE POINT THRUST

FIVE POINT THRUST

Delta’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust Program focuses attention on the Albany (GA) Alumnae’s purpose throughout the community. Jabberwock, the major biennial fundraising effort, facilitates the awarding of thousands of dollars to promote academic scholarships. The chapter addresses the concern for excellence in education with scholarships and grants to individuals along with donations to chapters in the form of “seed grants”. The chapter is a partner in education with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School in Albany, Georgia. Scholarships are awarded to seniors from each of the local high schools in counties where there are active chapter members. A tuition scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate Delta Rho chapter member of junior status at Albany State University. Locally, the chapter participates with the American Red Cross Blood Drive, March of Dimes, voter registration, SAT preparation, Diabetes Association, Relay for Life & American Cancer Society, Women Wear Red Luncheon with the Dougherty County Health Department and provides support for numerous other local charities
